This month's meeting will feature Evan Koch, Senior Consultant at CTS, presenting Hierarchies in SQL Server. In this session, Evan will present alternative approaches to representing hierarchical data within a SQL Server database. The first will be to represent trees as nested sets as found in Joe Celko’s SQL For Smarties book, and the second approach will use the hierarchyID data type in SQL Server 2008. Evan has worked with CTS for the past 8 years doing IT consulting work, primarily for clients in the financial services industry. Evan works heavily with both SQL Server and BizTalk Server technologies.
