For this first meeting of the Boston Azure User Group, we are all really excited to have Brian Lambert of Microsoft as the featured speaker. Brian is a Principal Software Development Engineer in Microsoft's Software + Services Concept Development team in Cambridge, MA (aka "the NERD"). Brian is so dedicated, he has encoded his job description and work location into his Twitter handle. Brian is an expert in Windows Azure - Microsoft's new Cloud Computing platform. In fact, rumor is that Brian has reached Ninja status - and he is going to share some of that Ninja awesomeness at our first meeting.
Brian is cooking up a real treat - ASP.NET MVC, Azure-style! We will step through the building of a functional application that will give us a taste for the essential building blocks of an Azure app. If you can't tell the difference between a Web Role and a Worker Role, or don't know when to use Blob storage versus Table storage, this talk will help you understand these essential ingredients. At the end we will have a fully baked (and deployed) Azure application.
