Topic	Jump into WPF! …and Become Immediately Effective
Description	You’ve seen the beautiful animated user interfaces; you have seen the gratuitous animations; you have seen the 3D. You might not be doing it now, but you will do it eventually. You will be building rich client applications in WPF. It is just a matter of time. This session was designed as an introduction to WPF to get you over that big learning curve that has frustrated many and well on your way to building great applications in WPF.
In this session you’ll learn how to use Visual Studio to help build WPF applications, of course. But, also in this session you’ll learn a number of tools you will use to build WPF applications. This is a rare place in the .NET stack where VS doesn’t do it all. In fact, it doesn’t even come close. So, in this session you’ll learn a number of tools you will be using like tools from the Expression Suite and some XAML design, syntax and rendering tools.
WPF is manifested in 3 major application platforms (Windows Client, Silverlight & Microsoft Surface) and all will be covered in this session at some level.
Level	100 / 200
Track	Developer Tools and Technologies
Product / Technologies	XAML, WPF, Silverlight, Surface, Visual Studio, Expression Suite
Target Audience	Architect, Developer
Audience Key Learning #1	WPF is the next generation of UX technologies: Get developers excited about the capabilities of these Client Technologies and provide guidance on how to get smart on these technologies.

Audience Key Learning #2	We get incredible developer productivity from Visual Studio & the Expression Suite: Demonstrate the tools needed to be successful.

Audience Key Learning #3	Demo real applications to stimulate ideas on what can be done in this next generation of software apps and demonst

Community Megaphone Events Feed

<geo:lat>35.4643000</geo:lat><geo:long>-82.5188270</geo:long><dc:coverage>NC</dc:coverage>

SharePoint Saturday - Charlotte

This event will be held on: 4/10/2010 at 8:00 AM, Eastern Time

Address: CPCC Levine Campus - 2800 Campus Ridge Road
City: Matthews
State: NC
Zip Code: 28105

Description:
Sharepoint Saturday is returning to Charlotte! this year promises to be bigger than ever with great content for SharePoint 2007 and the new SharePoint 2010!!

What table is the largest? How do you get a list of user’s properties? How many visitors came to my site yesterday?

This presentation will focus on the various T-SQL commands that can help improve the day-to-day functionality of a DotNetNuke site. Using standard and free modules, the session will demonstrate helpful T-SQL queries that will answer common operational questions.

Updating your site and wanting to determine what 3rd party modules are located on what pages? This session will help you develop reports to ensure your upgrades deliver few surprises.

The presentation will also help the attendees understand some of the standard data relationships in a DotNetNuke database so that they can use the tools and techniques discussed to develop T-SQL queries of their own.

The presentation will focus on the DotNetNuke V5 database structures including the new audit fields added in V5. However, the majority of the techniques demonstrated can be used on previous versions of DotNetNuke.

Community Megaphone Events Feed

<geo:lat>28.5427119</geo:lat><geo:long>-81.3789725</geo:long><dc:coverage>FL</dc:coverage>

Dive into Windows Azure

This event will be held on: 2/16/2010 at 6:00 PM, Eastern Time

Address: 19 Walden Drive
City: Arden
State: NC
Zip Code: 28704

Description:
Dive into Windows Azure - Presented By Brian Hitney - Please RSVP at http://wncdotnet.com that you will attend this meeting to help us estimate refreshments.

Community Megaphone Events Feed

<geo:lat>35.4643000</geo:lat><geo:long>-82.5188270</geo:long><dc:coverage>NC</dc:coverage>

Realizing the Potential of a Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 Infrastructure

This event will be held on: 3/10/2010 at 6:00 PM, Eastern Time

Address: 6750 North Andrews Ave
City: Fort Lauderdale
State: FL
Zip Code: 33309

Description:
SESSION 1: The New Efficiency: Windows 2008 R2

One of DISM’s many useful features is the ability to use its edition-servicing commands to upgrade an R2 installation without requiring install media. Using the DISM command a few batch scripts we will build a ASP.Net Application Server that can be placed in your perimeter zone for a little added more security.

Our first meeting will be a script club.

What is a script club you ask? You bring an idea for a script, and ask your fellow PowerShell users for help getting the script written. If it’s PowerShell, its covered — just bear in mind that it may be hard to test things like Exchange scripts or Active Directory management scripts unless you have a nice virtual lab on your laptop.

What are the Rules of Script Club?

1.	You always talk about script club
2.	You always talk about script club
3.	If someone asks for help, and you can help, you help
4.	Two people help one person at one time
5.	One module per person per night
6.	All scripts, all PowerShell
7.	Scripts will be as short as they can be
8.	If this is your first time at Script Club, You have to script!

Please RSVP so we can get a head count (especially if you want Pizza and come ready to pitch in a few dollars to help pay for the pizza.)!
